MFT Missing You Card

Hi all!

I'm back with another card video today. I'm sharing one of the cards I made for my Card Sets that I gave to friends and family at Christmas. This one was inspired by the MFT Design Team Member Karin Akesdotter. You can see her original blog post here. I saw her card and fell in love with the beautiful softness of it, but wanted more flower colors. I was looking to make another missing you card and thought this one would be perfect!

I have loved the MFT Four Way Chevron cover plate since it came out, but I just never ordered it. My friend Betsy knew how much I wanted it, and got it for me for Christmas!! Yay!! I instantly pulled it out and started playing with it that night after finding Karin's card :)

The flowers were colored using my distress inks and mini blending tools. I used Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers for the blue flower, Tattered Rose and Worn Lipstick for the pink, Shaded Lilac for the purple, and Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn for the leaves. I sprayed them with some Tsukineko 0.5-Fluid-Ounce All Purpose Ink, Champagne Mist which I have found at Amazon if you would like to get your hands on it!!!! I'm going to need to stock up on this and maybe try some other colors!!! This stuff is fabulous! You can see the beautiful shine on this picture!

Because I used my mini blending tools to create some colored areas with distress inks, every flower that I cut out came out different! I just love how you can see the different tones in all the flowers, especially in this picture.

Anyway, I cut my blended flowers out using the MFT Scribble Roses die. I then took some Stick It paper, placed it on the back of some Stamper's Select White, and cut out the MFT Scribble Roses Overlay die so they would already be backed with adhesive.

I used the Papertrey Ink Limitless Layers 2 1/4 inch ovals die to create a place to put my sentiment. I stamped the "miss you" from MFT's Written in Watercolor using Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

After I placed a vellum layer behind my cover plate, and popping it up with some foam adhesive, I used dimensionals to pop up my flowers and my sentiment. I added some bling using Stampin' Up Jewels and some enamel dots from My Style Stamps and Freckled Fawn. I placed the whole thing on a Fresh Snow Linen Cardstock base.

On the inside, I used the Papertrey Ink Tucked in: Thinking of You stamp set to stamp a sentiment in Altenew's Lavender Fields.

That's my finished card! I hope you guys enjoy, and I'll be back again soon with a quick tip for the Papertrey Ink Moment's Inked Planner :)

Hero Art's My Monthly Hero - January

Hi all,

I'm back today not only with a haul video, but with card shares as well.

I recently ordered the Hero Art's My Monthly Hero kit for January. They had a bunch of technical difficulty on their website the day of the kit release! Because of that, they included a sweet freebie gift to all people who placed an order for the kit. I think they sent items that haven't even ben released yet! What a wonderful company; sending such amazing freebies to make up for a malfunction with their website.

Anyway, I got my kit yesterday and took it out to play! I love love love this kit! It's meant to make beautiful shaker cards :) Not only do you get 3 dies and 2 stamp sets, but you get 2 mini ink pads, 6 notecards and envelopes, patterned vellum, and a Little Things from Lucy's Cards sequin mix made just for this card kit. What an amazing kit for the price! I have been extremely happy with both kits that I have ordered from Hero Arts. I also love that their kits are buy them as you like, because I wasn't very fond of the last 2 kits, and this meant I didn't get stuck with some kits that I didn't like!

Here's a picture of everything that came in the kit.

Here's a close up of the notecards, vellum, ink spots, and sequin mix.

Here's a close up of the 2 beautiful ink spots you get in the kit as well as the amazing True Love sequin mix from Lucy's Cards that was made just for this kit.

The stamps and dies that are included in this kit. You get 3 dies and 2 3x4 stamp sets.

These are the coordinating dies from the add-on kit that was available for purchase.

The last time I checked their website, the kit wasn't available anymore, but I'm not sure if they're going to offer it again because of all the problems they had with their website or not? If you like it, then maybe check back in a bit to see if it comes back in stock?  Here's the direct link to the kit:

Anyway, I put together a video showing what came in the kit as well as some other goodies I purchased. I also showed some cards that I made using this kit - ALL SHAKER CARDS!!! LOVE!!! I plan to create videos for some (or maybe all of these cards?) in the near future, so check back soon to see how I made these awesome shakers using this new kit :)

Here are pictures of the cards I made using this kit - remember, check back soon for some videos of these cards :)

Thanks guys! I'll see you soon! :) Have a wonderful week!!

Papertey Ink - Love Card

Hi all, I'm back today with another card video! Valentine's Day is still a month and a half away, but it will be here before you know it! Now if you're like me, you wait until the last minute to make a card you need... or you don't make one at all and just scramble around looking in your stash for the perfect card to give to the person. That's definitely how I am for my family's birthdays. I feel bad, but most of the time I don't make a specialized card just for them. I would love to be able to do that all the time, but I somehow always run out of time.

Well, this time I've made Andy's Valentine's Day card well in advance! I got a bunch of new love themed goodies in from the Papertrey Ink December release, and now that the holidays are over, I couldn't wait to play with all my fun new stuff! I was inspired by a recent blog post by Audrey Tokach here. I just loved the beautiful rainbow she made using the Brushed Off stamp set by Papertrey Ink. So of course I pulled out my Brushed Off stamp and all my new Valentine's Day/Love goodies in order to make a card. I wasn't sure where I was going, but as it went along, I decided that I could use it for Andy's card this year so I wouldn't be rushing around like a mad woman at the last minute.

I played around with some pinks (all the Papertrey Ink pinks in fact), including their beautiful new color Lovely Lady! I just love this gorgeous pale pink. It fits perfectly into their pink spectrum! I originally wanted the card to include a red (Pure Poppy) as well, but in the end it just didn't fit with my color scheme.

I just love the way this card turned out. I want to use my Brushed Off stamp set to make a ton more cards! But then everyone would get bored with seeing only Brushed Off... But who knows, you might see some more of it again soon... It's pretty much my new favorite stamp set now!

Anyway, I thought I was going to do some in-lay die cutting with the word Love, but after fiddling around with the heart die cuts, I decided to in-lay the hearts instead. I had originally wanted to used the solid colored inside hearts inside the outlines, just mix and match the colors, but I decided to try popping the stamped pieces back into place and voila! I loved what came from it :) The hearts and love word are die cut from Papertrey Ink's XOXO die set that matches their XOXO stamp set. I cut the word love out 4 times from True Black cardstock and layered them all together to give it dimension. I covered it with some wink of stella and then coated it with glossy accents. At the bottom, I just tied a bow using some small black ribbon that I had in my stash.

You can see the beautiful shine on the hearts at the top.

On the inside, I used a saying from Sending My Love by Papertrey Ink as well as the Happy Valentine's Day from Be Mine, Valentine (also PTI). I stamped one of the open hearts from XOXO behind the words.

On the video I showed in my card, I decided not to make a second Valentine's Day card because who would I give it to? Instead I turned it into a wedding card using the new set Tucked In: Wedding by Dawn McVey. I just love all the beautiful inside sentiments she has been releasing over the past year. They just look so nice on the inside of cards, and they take up a good amount of space so you don't have to write as much! (Always a plus when you don't know what to write but feel the need to give a card to someone)

I didn't take a picture of the inside of the second card, but you can see it in the following video :)

Anyway, that's my card. Thank you for stopping by today and check back soon for a planner layout video :)
