Happy Sunday everyone!! This weekend has been so busy for me :( On Friday, I went to my friend Emily's first Close To My Heart party. She just became a demonstrator and this party was to get her feet wet and to help her know what to expect for her next party. I bought some stuff from her, and I'm super excited to get it from her! On Saturday, I had power scrapping with Michele. I only got 1 page done :( But I had to go print my pictures in the morning before scrapping, and I had to get a cricut cartridge to complete the one page I did finish. I started a new page, but it's going to take a long time. It's from the December Cricut magazine. I love it, but I'm not enjoying the tons of cricut cuts I have to make for it, lol. But it will look really nice when it's done. Then last night was my best friend Melanie's bachelorette party. I didn't get home until 2 and then I promised my friend Julie I would go see The Lucky One with her this morning, so I was so exhausted when I got up (no I did not drink at the party, but I was still tired) It was such a cute movie and I was so excited to see Julie! Then after that I had card/scrapbook club at Michele's house! We made some really cute things today! I'll take pictures and post them.
Anyway, I made this card the other day using a new set of Cardztv stamps called "Greater Love," and the Hannah Montana and Elegant Edges Cricut cartridges. I actually made 4 of this card. Normally I only make 1, so this was good for me. Anyway, I made a video for it as well, enjoy!
Back to work tomorrow :( 8 more weeks! I can do it...
Once again I have found myself incredibly busy without meaning to be. It makes me sad that I think I'm going to have time to post and craft and then I don't :(
Andy and I had a nice time in PA. Once we got back, I didn't have any time to craft :( I did make a card on Sunday night, so I'll take a picture of it and post it. But on Monday, a GIANT package of Papertrey Ink goodies landed on my doorstep!!! It was a huge order, so I thought I would film my haul and let everoyne live vicariously through me :) So here you go!
I hope you enjoy my haul!! I filmed a video tonight and edited it already, so I'm uploading it to youtube and will post it tomorrow hopefully.
I just have so much to say today!! Normally I hardly ever post, but I just want to make sure that I cover everything today! 2 things. First thing's first, Stampin' Up has added more items to their Clearance Rack!! Lots of goodies from the Holiday Mini from 2011, including accessories and lots of DSP. Sadly there's no spice cake, but oh well. They also have some of the items from SAB last year as well.
The next item of news today is that Mary Grubbs has released several new sets of her Cardztv Stamps! There are 4 new sets, with another one on the way soon as well! They are "It's All About You," "Mother's Day," "Happy Days," and "Ticket Talk 2." I have already ordered a couple of her new sets, as well as some old sets that I really like. I'm super excited to get them in this week and start playing! Though Andy and I will probably be in PA when they come :(
She just has the most fabulous ideas, and she truly inspires me every day. She ALWAYS posts videos of her cards!! I look for them every day, and can't wait for the next one each day :) So I really hope you go over and check her out and give her stamps a chance.
And to show you how much she inspires me, I'm going to share a card that I copied from her and then changed a little to make it my own.
Isn't this just the cutest card!!!
Here is the link to Mary's video tutorial: http://www.cardztv.blogspot.com/2012/03/some-bunny-loves-you.html
Here are the supplies:
Cardstock: All the colored cardstock on the layers came from a DCWV paper stack called The Basics. It's all the same paper, just in every color. There's solids and a bunch of cute prints like polka dots, gingham, argyle, and stripes. I also used Whisper White from SU as my card base.
Stamp: Easter Punnies (Cardztv), Peachy Keen Animal Faces, Tea Dye Distress Ink
Ink: Basic Black (SU)
Ribbon: A blue satin ribbon from Walmart.
Cricut Cartridges: Doodlecharms (bunny) and Paperdoll Dress Up (fence and grass)
Cutout cardstock: Certainly Celery, Soft Suede, Whisper White
Punches: Boho Blossoms (SU), Itty Bitty Bits (SU), 1/2 inch circle punch (popped up on dimensionals to make it look like she's peeking over the fence)
Stampin' Up Basic Rhinestones
Buttons: Hawaiian Shores (or it could be Blueberry Sky?), Sweet Blush, Raspberry Fizz (all PTI)
Stampin' Up Watercolor Wonder crayons: (to highlight the cheeks) Pretty in Pink
Ok, that's all for now. Sorry for posting so much today!
Hey everyone,
I'm back again with another video!! I know, 2 so soon! Aren't you lucky?? I am still also in the process of editing and finishing another video for Easter. I want to get that one up soon since Easter is over, but I still wanted to share that video with you.
Anyway, here's my next video for the day. It uses some of my Papertrey Ink goodies from the March 2012 release. It was my favorite set from the release!! It's called Back Pocket Basics. I also used Elegant Edges. So... on to the video!!
I hope you enjoy! I think this is one of my favorite cards of all the cards I've made! I love the colors, and I just love the concept, and so I hope you like it as much as me! Sorry it turned out so long...
I have another video for you! And I'm already in the process of uploading another and editing another one! I was a busy bee last night trying to film videos of all the cards I've been making. I've got a couple more to film as well. I'm on spring break, so hopefully I'll have some time to do a couple more. Although Andy and I are going to Pennsylvania for a couple days, so maybe not as many as I wanted, oh well.
Anyway, here is a card that I made with my friend in mind, though I never sent it. She finally joined the smart phone club and got an iPhone! So it was the only reason I could come up with to make a card that night, so I made a congratulations card. I was looking through my stamp sets, and found the perfect saying on my "Fashionable Friends" set by K Andrew Designs. Here is the video for the card I made!
I also used the Forever Young cartridge on this card. I hope you enjoy!!
So I got my Papertrey Ink March release stamps aboout 2 weeks ago, and I filmed a video and posted it last week, but I am having a hard time keeping up with my blog and youtube, so now I'm posting the video for you.
There were so many awesome things from their new release in March, and I'm planning on making some videos while I have spring break this week! I hope... that showcase some of the new products... So in the meantime, here's a video with the new products I got. They are now starting to show sneak peaks of their April release as well! Head over to http://www.nicholeheady.typepad.com/ to see the new products!
Enjoy and have a wonderful day! Andy and I are going to Bdubs to celebrate having a break. He doesn't have work either tomorrow.
Also, I plan on making a video of my Easter card for this year. I'll also post my other card that I made, which was a copy of a card that Mary from www.cardztv.blogspot.com, so you can go there for her video when I post it. And I still have so many other things to share... I need more time in my day :(
I just wanted to let you know that the Stampin' Up Summer Smooches product line is now available! It became available yesterday! It will be available until the end of April. It will then go back in the vault for a month and come back in the new catalogue in June. 2 of the products will not be available in the big catalogue, so if you like them, get them now!! That would be the brads and the stencil. Click HERE for the flyer for the product suite.
I absolutely adore the cute purse die! I haven't had a chance to play with any of my goodies from the new line, but I absolutely love the colors of the paper and the brads. They are awesome! The stamp set is really cute too :)
I don't have a website because I don't actively demonstrate. However, if you would like to order from me, just add a comment and I can help you out with that! Or you can go to my demonstrator Michele and order from her! Hi Michele!!! She also has some awesome samples using the new products! So go check her out :)
This is about a week late, but last week we had grades due, so I was spending a lot of my time grading papers. Also, Tuesday was my birthday!!! I also got some paper racks for my 12x12 paper. The paper racks are what I was looking forward to most! I told my parents about them back in December! They're on backorder through, so I don't have them yet :( That was going to be the final thing to complete my craft room. So when I get them, I can finally show you a video of my new space!! I absolutely love love love it!
I made off pretty good huh!!
Anyway, I had a little time to craft this weekend, but I spent most of it trying to finish The Hunger Games. I got the book on Thursday, and I've got about 100 pages left. Andy and I went to see the movie on Saturday, and I really liked it! Now I just need to finish the book even though I know what is going to happen. I bought the second one yesterday, so I'll have that when I'm done.
Also, this week Michele came over and crafted with me!! I was so excited for her to come over!!! She worked on covering card keeper boxes from the Stampin' Up Holiday Mini, and I worked on thank you cards for my mom. She is doing the 3 day walk for breast cancers, so I'm making thank you cards she can send to the people who donate. I'll made a video and show you. I've only got about 9 done, but I've got parts of more done. I ran out of ribbon so I had to get more. I only got 2 done on Wednesday though because my Gypsy had to update my cricut :( So that took a bit of time. I did the rest last night. I also made an Easter card which I hope to film this week and get up. I'll be making some more of that Easter card and hopefully 1 more design so I can get them out by tomorrow or Wednesday... I also think I'm going to come up with an idea for a card for my students to make... The ones who earn it that is. I told them they needed to earn 22 beads this week by Thursday to have enough to make the card. I'm sure I'll only have about half of my students, if that, making a card. Oh well. They'll learn when the kids who like to push my buttons aren't doing the activity and doing work instead.
Anyway, a little over a week ago, my coworker asked me to make a card for her mom's birthday. She told me her mom likes sunflowers and shopping. I decided to go with the shopping theme and see what I could come up with. Here is a video for the card I came up with.
The funny thing is, I went to a card class with my demonstrator Michele the same day, and we made a birthday card using the sunflower background stamp.
She ended up buying both of them from me, and gave me $10 for them!! That was my first card sale ever!! I've given some to people before, but I've never had anyone actually buy them! Yay :) Everyone keeps telling me to sell them, but I feel bad charging people for them, or I just don't know who to sell them to. I might ask my hair dresser if I can display some cards at her house to see if any of her clients would like to buy any. It's just about getting out there and seeing who you know.
Anyway, I've got some other news, but this post is long enough, so I'll put it in another post.
