Altenew Vintage Roses Cards

Hey all!

I'm back with another card video for you today!! I'm really excited about this card, I think it turned out super pretty!!! I just love all the foiling and flowers! I don't think you can ever have too many flowers :)

Here's a picture

I love the gold foil, the beautiful layered flowers, the patterned vellum, everything! I love these beautiful Vintage Roses Stamps and Dies by Altenew, they are one of my all time favorite flower sets!

Here are the products I used.

Papertrey Ink August 2015 Haul Video

Hey guys!

Tomorrow is the first day of school!! I'm so nervous to meet the rest of my sweet little Kindergartners! I'm so not ready to be back in work mode again and having to get up at 6:00!! I am not a morning person!! :)

So anyway, I have filmed a couple videos and posted them, and I'll share them each in a different blog post, but I just wanted to start with my PTI haul first. I don't know about you guys, but I absolutely love seeing what other people bought because I like to see what other people like. Do we all like the same stamps, are there stamps that you love and bought that I'm not excited about and vice versa??? That's why I love doing my haul videos. Sometimes I feel like I'm just showing off all the fun stuff I bought, and I guess that's what it is, but at the same time, it lets other people know what has come out recently and see the items up close, which I also love.

Anyway, I got a lot of fun goodies from the Papertrey Ink August Release and I filmed this video to show you all the fun stuff I got.

I'm just now realizing that I forgot to include the Make It Market Halloween mini kit that came out this month, so if you haven't seen that, you should check that out too for sure! It's so adorable! My friend Betsy ordered on Stamp-a-Faire day to get the free stamp set, and I added some stuff onto her order, so when I get that one in, I'll show those things and my Halloween kit.

Here are some pictures of those cards I made using some of the new product in this release. I also posted them in my Stamp-a-Faire posts, but here they are again :)

Alright, well, I filmed and uploaded my craft room tour, but I want to take some close up pictures for you of all my organizing, so I probably won't get that blog post up today, but check back for it this week! And wish me luck on my first day!!!

Papertrey Ink Stamp-a-Faire 2015 Mix & Match Challenge

Here's my last post for the evening. The last challenge that Betsy and I had time for was the Mix and Match Challenge.

http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2015/08/saf-2015-mix-match-challenge.html

I chose to do Dawn's challenge to use colors that you don't normally use. I hardly ever use Blueberry Sky, Plum Pudding, Limeade Ice, or Terracotta Tile. I love the colors, I just never use them often for some reason.

To start off with, I decided to pull out my Plaid Builders Background stamp set for the first time. I love love love how the plaid paper turned out! It was so much fun and I can't wait to try using my plaid stamp set again. Once I finished my background piece, I used my Tipped Tops die to cut it out using the middle size. I used the largest die to cut out a Limeade Ice shadow. I then cut out the Happy from Tipped Tops using Smokey Shadow card stock, a neutral I hardly use as well. The stars are also part of Tipped Tops, and I just cut them out using Terracotta Tile, Blueberry Sky, and Plum Pudding card stock. I randomly placed them on the card. I really wanted to use balloons to make it a birthday card (and it's still a birthday card if you look at the inside sentiment), but I couldn't figure out how to do it without covering up my beautiful plaid patterned paper! So I nixed it for the stars and I think it still turned out okay. Lastly, I put everything onto a Plum Pudding card base.

I'm so happy that I had a chance to participate in this year's Stamp-a-Faire. I didn't get a chance to do all the challenges, but I hope to go back and complete more of them later.

I plan to make a couple videos using these cards, but not sure when they will get up. School is back in session (well, teacher's are back in session right now anyway) and my time is limited! Ahhh! And the kids haven't even come back yet!

Anyway, thank you for visiting my blog tonight! Thank you Papertrey Ink for another great Stamp-a-Faire!

Papertrey Ink Stamp-a-Faire Pattern Challenge

Hi!

I'm back with another post for Papertrey Ink's Stamp-a-Faire 2015 Challenges.

This is the Patterns Challenge. We were given 12 different sketches to pick from to use as inspiration to create a card. I chose to use pattern #2, Betsy Veldman's pattern. I absolutely love the stripes in this pattern and it really spoke to me :)

Here's my take on the challenge. I love love love the way this card came out!

Edited to add: I filmed a video for this card!!

Let's start with the background. I used my distress inks again for this background, but this time I did some ink blending instead of watercolor. I used Fossilized Amber, Picked Raspberries, and Abandoned Coral to create this stunning background. Then I cut it from my PTI Horizontal Stripes Cutting Plate. I also used the cutting plate to create a black border. I really think it makes the colors on the background pop! Now I have the opposite pieces left over, so I plan on making a card with them as well.

For the Flowers, I used the Make it Market Kit Stamp Set Beautiful Brushstrokes and dies.
Pink Flower: Sweet Blush, Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz
Red Flower: Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy, Terracotta Tile
Orange Flower: Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Canyon Clay
Purple Flower: Winter Wisteria, Royal Velvet
Leaves: Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado

For the sentiment, I used the Wet Paint Cuts die. I use the Fossilized Amber ink pad directly on paper to create my own color paper. I cut it out 4 times and stacked them together. I then used my Perfect Pears (the clear one) the make it shimmery. To finish the card off, I tied some white and black bakers twine around the top.
